An Easy Vegan Bread Recipe – Another Use For Beer

I’ve made this vegan bread recipe a few times. It is easy and quick. It uses beer, but you don’t have to use alcoholic beer, you can use non-alcoholic beer and it works just as easy and just as well.

This recipe only calls for 4 ingredients. It is super easy and very tasty.

Vegan bread recipe
This recipe makes one large loaf of bread. Double up to make 2 loaves of vegan beer bread.

3 cups self rising flour
3 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
1 bottle of beer

Depending on the type of bread you’re trying to make you can choose beers from light lagers to dark ales for different flavour profiles for your vegan bread recipe. The darker ales as you might expect make for a denser and more robust flavour. My favourites, but sometimes a nice light ale can make for nice light, fluffy and chewy bread too.

You can also use whole wheat self rising flour if you can find it for a healthier bread.

Preheat the oven to 350. Then in a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients. Then add the beer and mix well into a somewhat runny dough.

Pour the bread batter into a greased 8″ x 4″ to 9″ x 5″ loaf pan and bake for around 45 to 55 minutes. You know you’re done when a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out clean.

Take the bread out of the oven and let sit in the loaf pan for a few minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack. Your vegan bread will be ready to eat in about 20 minutes. Still nice and warm!
